HOW TO GET TO MCGUIRE AFB

There are two major airports from which to choose for your arrival: Newark International Airport and Philadelphia International Airport.

Driving Directions

From NewarSouth k International Airport
  1. When leaving the airport, follow the signs to the New Jersey Turnpike (Interstate-95 in northern New Jersey). Stay on the New Jersey Turnpike going south to Exit 7.
From the New Jersey Turnpike Exit 7
  1. Take 206 for approximately 1/4 mile. Stay in the left lane to the intersection of 206/68 ("Y").
  2. Turn left on 68 and drive approximately four miles. Look for a sign pointing left to "McGuire/Deborah Hospital."
  3. Turn left at that sign across the opposite lanes of Highway 68. You will come to a "T" intersection almost immediately.
  4. Make a right turn; you are now on Highway 545 heading south. Stay on this road for approximately two miles. You will cross Highway 537 at the 1 1/2 mile point (at the light).
  5. Stay in the left lane. At 1/2 mile beyond the light you will veer left onto the four lane McGuire access road, Highway 680. There is a sign for McGuire AFB. This road will "T" intersect at the McGuire main gate (#1).
  6. To enter through gate #1, turn left at the light and go to the next stop light. Turn right to enter the 24-hour gate (gate #2) and/or access the Visitor Center.
From Philadelphia International Airport

As you leave the airport, follow the signs for Interstate 95/Interstate 76/Philadelphia/New Jersey. Keep left onto the ramp. Move into the left lane as the road splits onto Interstate 95. At Exit 19 stay right onto the ramp for "Interstate 76/Walt Whitman Br/Packer Ave." (Follow the signs for Walt Whitman Bridge). Take the ramp right onto Interstate 76/Schuylkill Expressway, Interstate 76/Walt Whitman Bridge. As you enter New Jersey take the ramp to the right onto Interstate 295/Trenton. At this point you may choose to either:
  1. Take Interstate 295 north to Exit 56 (signposted for "McGuire/Military Bases"). Follow the signs to 206/68 south. Once you are on 206 south, follow the above directions listed under numbers one through six (From the New Jersey Turnpike Exit 7).
  2. Get on the New Jersey Turnpike north Exit 7 and follow directions one through six on previous page.
  3. Take Interstate 295 north to exit 34 east. Then to Route 38/Mt. Holly. Turn right onto Route 206 north. Turn right at the light onto Route 537 (Monmouth Road). Turn right at the light onto Route 545 (The Garden State Diner is across the intersection on the right). Now follow steps five and six in the above directions (From the New Jersey Turnpike Exit 7). The easiest recommended route to take would be the second option; however there is a fee for using the turnpike.
